Systems Broadcast Installer

 

Job Qualifications:

 

1)  Minimum 2 years experience in the broadcast industry as a technician.

2)  Must be able to perform work that involves analysis, interpretation or making deductions from facts and circumstances related to broadcast systems.

3)  Must be an active member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers.

4)  Must hold an active SBE certification or complete certification within 6 months of employment.

5)  Must be proficient with computers and knowledge of all Microsoft products. Preferable: Microsoft Windows 7/8/8.1 Professional, and Office 2010/2013 Professional or better. AutoCAD experience is required.

6)  Continue education on new products to keep up with a changing industry.

7)  Must know SMPTE standards.

8)  Proficient with waveform, vector scope, routers, switchers, intercom systems, camera setup, audio systems, etc...

9)  Willing to work occasional weekends and or evenings to accommodate customer productions.

10) Capable of lifting weights ~50 Lbs.

11) Valid Texas driver’s license. Clean driving record. No warrants.

12) Willing to Travel to perform duties. Must have dependable vehicle to get to customers office.

13) Must work well with others. Be a team player. Be a self-starter.

 

Scope of duties:

 

1)  Responsible for pre-wiring, installing, programming, and maintenance of products and services related but not limited to the broadcast/ audio-visual industry.                                                                                                                 

2)  Production show support. Work with customer to understand their production needs. Assist with show setup in whatever capacity is needed to get the highest production possible. Meeting all broadcast standards.

3)  Perform routine system analysis for maintaining proper broadcast standards.

4)  Assist with all aspects of installation- building scaffolding, moving racks and equipment, hanging screens, projectors, monitors or anything else needed to get job done.

5)  Terminate all kinds of audio, visual, network, data connections for the broadcast industry.

6)  Have an understanding of the signals being transmitted over the cables that you are terminating. HD-SDI, SD-SDI, Composite, Xvga, Vga, DVI, DDVI, Balanced and unbalanced audio, AES, Mic vs. Line level, etc.

7)  Perform installation of broadcast systems following proper engineering practices set fourth using SMPTE standards and BTS high level of installation techniques.

8)  Assist with warehouse and office organization. Fill in where needed.

9)  Maintain proper timesheet documentation on a daily basis for billing purposes. Timesheet info needs to be added to existing time sheet on server by the close of business day Friday each week. Old timesheet needs to be put in old info folder. New time sheet needs to have date changed to show changes have been made.

10) Use time clock at office or on Job site clocking in and out as needed for Lunch, breaks etc.

11) Report to your immediate supervisor in the morning when you arrive at the job site, when you break for lunch and at the end of each day.

12) Work cooperatively and professionally with colleagues.

13) Follow employee manual.

An understanding in the operation of such matrix designs and functions.
