Staff Bio

Bill McKee

 

Founder | CEO | President

 

 

 

Bill started Broadcast Technical Services in January 2001.   As Founder, Owner, and President/CEO, Bill is responsible for all areas of the Company.   He works closely with our engineering division and remains an active participant in every one of our projects in the design, planning and installation.  He works closely with our sales and administration teams in all areas of business operations.

 

McKee has been in the television business for more than 30 years.  He holds more than 30 different manufacturer repair training certificates.   Bill is an active member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers (# 13269) and is a certified Broadcast Engineer.  McKee was an Engineer-In-Charge for NEP Remote Productions for four years working every major sporting event and for national broadcast and cable sports network in the United States.  Bill has served as Engineer-in-Charge for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo for more than 20 years.  In 1997, McKee earned a National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Sports Emmy Award for Outstanding Technical Team Studio for NFL Draft coverage on ESPN.  Bill has completed 30-hour OSHA training as well as several other safety related courses.

 

Bill attended University of Houston and Houston Community College for Electronics.  McKee is a member of Prosperity Media Ventures, LLC.  On October 14, 2008 McKee was ordained as Minister of Gospel under Joan Gieson, Ministries of Love.   Bill also serves as an Evangelist for Koinonia The Gathering Place.   Bill and his wife Vidyia reside in Houston, Texas. 

     Russell Steele

    

Vice President of Engineering

 

 

Russell has been with BTS since its inception in November 2001. Steele started as an entry level installer and quickly grew to become Bill’s right hand man.  Russell has a degree in Computer Science, technical certifications and program completions. A few of his certifications include: Computer Networking, Programming, Engineering Technology, Electronics, Fiber Optics, AutoCAD and the 30-hour OSHA training course. Russell oversees our Engineering staff including supervision, training and scheduling.

 

He serves as our lead technical designer and CAD specialist as well as Engineer-In-Charge for many events.  Russell is also a member of the board, serves as our Safety Director and leads our safety training and compliance programs.   Steele serves on our Board of Directors.

Michael Hobart

 

Vice President of Sales

 

 

Michael joined our BTS team in July 2008.  Hobart serves as our head of Sales to lead our equipment sales and integration project efforts.  Michael has been instrumental in negotiating our reseller contracts with many professional broadcast equipment manufacturers and distributors.   In addition, he has helped to create solid revenue streams in Houses of Worship, Arts/Entertainment, Civic, Education and Marine industries.  Prior to joining BTS, Hobart spent 15 years as national and regional sales manager for FOR.A Corporation of America. 

                 Melanie Killian

 

Senior Administration Manager

 

 

Melanie has been with the BTS family since April 2009.  Killian supports the overall sales and accounting efforts of our Company, including customer service, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory management and general sales support.  In addition, she serves as our Office/Administration Manager. 

Killian graduated from the Texas School of Business in 1989 and started her career in the life insurance industry.  She as an extensive background in support administration and customer service and prides herself for being able to handle pretty much any customer situation that is presented to her.  Throughout the duration of her career, she has had the opportunity to work for companies such as New York Life and The Hines Companies in Houston and Caterpillar in Peoria, IL. Melanie enjoys giving back to the community and started a local charity after Hurricane Harvey and in her spare time, she enjoys playing golf.

Lisa Heathcote

 

Sales Administrator

 

 

 

Lisa joined the BTS family in February of 2018 to support our sales administration team.  She has over 20 years of experience in administration and customer service in various industries including theological, veterinary, and manufacturing. 

She is from Pennsylvania and now resides with her husband Tim in Tomball with their two dogs and three cats.  They enjoy hiking, biking, and traveling together.

              Adam Glazener

 

Information Technology Administrator

 

Adam has been with our BTS team since April 2012.   Glazener handles all of our information technology infrastructure, architecture, and security.  He also created our website and social media platforms.  In addition to his IT functions, Adam also serves in the Administration and Engineering departments when needed as sales support or systems integrator.   Adam has completed 10-hour OSHA construction training.

Glazener has over 30 years of experience in the computer field.  His venture in the I.T. industry has led him to the BTS team to implement his service.  Adam has attained a B.S. in Theology prior to his career in computers.   Adam moved to Houston, TX in 2007 and has led a ministry in downtown Houston reaching out to the homeless population, conducts outreach ministry, and revival evangelism through Mighty Redeemer Ministries.

Pedro Garza

 

Lead Systems Integrator

 

 

Pedro has been with our BTS team since October 2008.   Garza serves as our lead systems integrator and fabrication expert.   He is a certified AFL fiber termination expert.   He has completed 30-hours of OSHA training and is certified to be a trainer in many key safety areas.  Pedro has served as project manager for many of the most complicated fabrication installations we have performed.   His overall experience in large venue operations serves us well with our sports-related clients. 

Garza has served as project manager since 1999 at Modulan N.S., DataComm, and C.A. Communications. 

                   Joey Trujillo

 

Intermediate Level Systems Integrator

 

 

Joey joined our BTS team in January 2013.   Trujillo works in our Engineering division as a systems integrator.  He does most of the wiring, labeling, terminating, and testing of our audio, video, and fiber-optic cabling, as well as assisting with our screen and projector system installations. Joey also serves as a production support for video shading, and an Engineering-In-Charge assist for many of our sports team contracts.   In addition, he helps the administration team with office duties when needed. 

Trujillo has two years of experience in web development and marketing at Lone Star College. He enjoys hobbies such as fishing, camping, skateboarding, painting, and building R/C planes. Joey and his wife Sarah reside in Houston, Texas.

Kasey Dowlearn

 

Intermediate Level Systems Integrator

 

 

 

 

Kasey Dowlearn joined our BTS team in June 2017.  He has 7 years of experience as a broadcast systems technician. Most of Kasey’s experience has been in the commercial industry including large office buildings and sports venues.  He has experience in A/V integration, project management, fiber terminations as well as AMX installation and programming.   

 In addition, Kasey has experience in metals fabrication.  In his free time, Kasey enjoys hunting, fishing, outdoor sports and baseball.  

          George Garcia

 

Entry Level Systems Integrator

 

 

George Garcia joined our BTS team in September 2017 as an Entry Level Systems Integrator.  George has studied media at Texas Bible Institute. He has more than 7 years of experience in church media in video shading, installation, editing, and labeling

Garcia is Head of Media at The Power of Love Church in Houston, TX.   In his spare time, George enjoys videography, baseball, shooting, and woodworking.

Travis Carter

 

Account Manager Consultant

 

 

Travis Carter joined BTS in June 2017, as an Account Manager consultant focusing on sales in Louisiana and surrounding states.  He has more than 40 years of experience in broadcast equipment sales.   Prior to joining BTS, Travis worked at Gray Communications, Crescent Communications, and Comprehensive Technical Group. 

Travis graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Mathematics.  He proudly served our country as an electronics technician third class in the United States Navy.  Travis and his wife Pat of 50 years live in Metairie, Louisiana.  He is an avid hunter.
